Puppies, puppies, puppies…
The two primary focuses in our breeding program are health and temperament. We believe that proper socializing of puppies is of the utmost importance. Our litters are raised in the middle of our rather chaotic household with exposure from an early age to all the normal sights and sounds of a busy home. In addition they interact with the adult and young adult beagles that are our resident dogs, which teaches them good dog language skills. We actively recruit “puppy handlers” of various ages to come and play with the pups once the pups are an appropriate age. Our puppy socialization is based on the work of Dr. Ian Dunbar.
All of our breeding stock have their eyes checked by a board certified ophthalmologist and are tested MLS negative.
At 8 weeks our pups go to their new homes with the first set of vaccines done, a complete check over by our veterinarian, wormed, tattooed and registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. Our selling price is $900.00. We have a contract that is designed to protect not only us but also the puppy and the purchaser.
Our commitment to our puppies and their families does not end when the puppy leaves our home. We encourage our buyers to stay in contact with us over the course of the lifetime of their beagle, we are always available as a resource to answer questions and give support. In an average year we will have 2 or 3 litters depending on the breeding cycles of our girls, we sometimes have a waiting list of several months. We are always happy to answer questions about the breed and talk about whether a beagle is the right choice for you.
