Those GingerSnaps!

Beagles come in many recognized colour combinations, a colour that we are starting to see more commonly in Canada is the lemon or red and white. Sometimes called “Gingers” by those of us who have fallen under their spell, they are all beagle… with a twist of lemon…. With colours ranging from a pale soft tan to a deep mahogany red, heavily coloured or mostly white or crème, they are all very unique. They can have a black nose and dark eye rims or a pink nose which may slightly change colour from winter to summer. A dark eye colour is always preferred to give a soft pleading expression.

Lemons have been very popular in Great Britain and Australia for many years and they are quickly gaining ground in Canada.

So the next time you think “Beagle” don’t just think about the typical brown, black and white tricolour….Take a trip to the wild side and think “Gingers” too!

Is the Beagle the Right Dog for you??
